Sustainability Lesson at Thirty Thousand Feet in the Air

Business and first-class passengers on select American Airlines flights this summer will get an environmental education along with their extra legroom, courtesy of Waste Management Sustainability Services (WMSS). This August and September, the airline will run a promotional video about WMSS on entertainment devices in business and first-class cabins on its 777 and 757 aircrafts worldwide.

The two-minute video describes how WMSS helps customers turn waste into opportunities that benefit their bottom line and the environment. WMSS has delivered more than $157 million in savings to its customers through sustainable solutions that reduce waste, inefficiency and costs. As an environmental solutions provider and not only a hauler and transporter of waste, the scale of projects that the team handles ranges from working with clients to manage zero waste events (at least 90 percent diversion from landfill) to providing consultation on product development to include sustainability.

The goal of the ad is to illustrate how Waste Management provides diverse services to meet an organization’s wide breadth of goals – from recycling to sustainability and everything in between.
